Hello! My name is Samantha. I love running, being active, my little girl, and drinking wine… and NOT in that order! I love trying new things, including juicing which is still an experiment at this point, but I’m loving it! This blog is an attempt to inspire myself and YOU!
I have run five half marathons, but this year I will cross the FULL off of my bucket list. I hope to document and share my journey of losing weight, marathon training, nutrition, fun Mommy stuff, staying active as well as things I learn along the way, with all of you. My Running Story
In August of 2009, I brought Makenna into this world. Just like every mother, I wanted to lose the baby weight! My best friend called with a great idea to get fit, lose weight, and duh, take a trip together! We chose the San Diego Rock & Roll half and I have been hooked ever since. I had no idea how to train, how to fuel, or what to expect. I ended up finishing in 3 hours 17 minutes UGHHHH!!! I’m definitely not a pro at this point, but I have taken an hour off of that time and set a PR on my last half. I am not super fast and I don’t win races, however; I love nothing more than to put my headphones in, go to the trail along the river here in the Pacific Northwest, run, and BE FREE!!
